EARTH DAY

Earth Day is an event celebrated annually on April 22. There are celebrations all over the world to show people’s concern about environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network,  and there are special events held in more than 192 countries every year.

Special campaigns are launched each year to focus on different aspects that affect the environment: global warming, overpopulation, etc.

MUSIC

I've just watched a video about the Grammy Awards and I've thought: why don't we have a look at some musical terms this week? So...here you are.

There are different kinds of musical instruments:

The winds which include the woodwinds, such as the flute or piccolo, the oboe or English horn; and the brass, for example the saxophone, the trumpet or the trombone.

String instruments like the violin, viola, cello or bass.

More than you could ever know

Make my _____________ come true...

All I want for Christmas Is you...

I don't ___________ a lot for Christmas

There is just one thing I need

I don't ____________ about the presents

BLACK FRIDAY

It’s true that, more and more, in Spain we love celebrating foreign traditions. It seems it is not enough celebrating Halloween when we have Samaín, or it doesn’t matter it’s July because we can celebrate the Oktoberfest anyway and St. Patrick’s? Why not S. José? Which is a “more Spanish patron saint”?

INLINE SKATING

This year I have started to attend inline skating lessons and I have realised that more and more people, adults and children, are getting interested in this sport.

Inline skates usually have 4 wheels in a single line, theoretically in order to skate faster and manoeuvre better than using roller skates.
